Experience some of the cultures and languages of the Barkly Region, and listen to stories you won't hear anywhere else.
Winnanjjikari Music Centre presents BAMFest - an annual celebration of music from the Barkly and beyond.
Come in and see a glimpse of how people work, create, nurture and engage with each other to develop a sense of place in this remote regional area.
31 July - 2 August 2020
The painting styles of the artists at Barkly Arts is diverse and often incorporates a naive story-telling approach to create landscapes and events in the artists’ memory and everyday life.
Sharing stories & images opens a space where people are encouraged to engage & listen to each other, learning from each other & breaking down barriers to understanding.
What is a community lockdown festival?
2020 has been quite a year already, but we are excited to announce that all is not lost! You don't have to miss out on the Desert Harmony Festival - it will just be a different experience this year.
We have taken the challenge and are working closely with the local community on a unique online 'Community Lockdown' Festival which we will stream onto your phone or into your lounge room on the festival weekend: 31 July - 2 August.
The festival program will be a jam-packed showcase of the creative talents and awesomeness of the people in the Barkly Region presented for all the world to share. There will be cultural activities, Warumungu language, music, art, dance, and more!
